Nanophotonics Institute, relying on the StateKey Laboratory of Modern Optical Instrumentation and the State Key Discipline of Optical Engineering, includes two Professorand 6 associate professors. Our research on nanophotonics focuses on integrated optoelectronics for optical interconnect and optical communication (silicon photonics, plasmonics devices, optical antennas, graphene photonics) ,functional optoelectronics for green photonics (absorption and detection in IR and MIR, fluorescent materials and microscopy, lightning-emitting diode for intelligent lighting, thermal radiation for sola cell), micro and nano fabrication technology (optoelectronic integrated chip processing technology, advanced e-beam lithography, atomically smooth film and nanojoining), optical nanofibers, nanowire lasers and microfiber optical sensors. A number of papers published in high-impact journals such as Nature and Nano Letters, and highlighted by Nature, Nature Nanotechnology etc. We have collaboration with a number of research groups world widely, and won prizes including the “WANG Da-Heng” Optics Prize (Chinese Optics Society) and the Natural Science Prize of Zhejiang Province.
