项目基本信息:
1. Mechanobiology Institute (MBI) Graduate Program Fellowship
About MBI:
Founded in 2009 as one of Singapore's five Research Centers of Excellence, Mechanobiology Institute's Mission is to:
1) Understand mechanical aspects of cells and tissues that create organism form and function;
2) Define fundamental set of mechanobiological operations from which these complex biological functions are built;
2) Establish world-wide standard to unify the description and understanding of normal and diseased functions;
3) Develop robust multidisciplinary approaches to mechanobiology, embracing an open research platform to achieve synergism and to train a new generation of researchers and students.
MBI Graduate Program:
All students admitted to the MBI PhD program will be offered a full scholarship for up to five (5) years. The scholarship covers full tuition and fees, with a monthly stipend of S$3200 per month and a one-time allowance of S$5000 to cover purchase of laptops, books and other scholastic materials. The MBI will also provide a competitive allowance for international conference travel.
2. Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) PhD Fellowship
SMART-BioSystems and Micromechanics (BioSyM) Website:
About SMART:
Founded by MIT and Singapore in 2007, SMART aims to:
1) Identify and carry out research on critical problems of societal significance and develop innovative solutions through its interdisciplinary research groups (IRGs);
2) Become a magnet for attracting and anchoring global research talent to Singapore;
3) Develop robust collaborations with researchers at local universities and institutions in Singapore;
4) Engage in graduate education by co-advising local doctoral students and post doctoral associates; and help instill a culture of translational research, entrepreneurship and technology transfer through the SMART Innovation Centre.
