报告题目:Optical Imaging in Life Science Research and Medical Diagnosis 报告内容:Abstract:The old saying that seeing is believing has particular resonance for
studying biological system. The emphasis of this talk will be the
development of optical techniques for label-free imaging of biological
system in vivo. I will briefly introduce the exciting research area of
optical imaging in life science and medical diagnosis, and then focus
on the integration of advanced nonlinear imaging techniques to produce
multi-modality microscopic images of living cell and tissue. The key
concepts are to build a broadband ultrafast source and a multi-channel
detection system to excite multiple endogenous/exogenous optical signals
and form the co-registered multi-modality images of a living biological
sample simultaneously. The experimental results demonstrate that
multi-modality microscopy technology can provide unique approaches to
image cellular metabolic activity, protein expression, cellular and tissue
structures based on simultaneous excitation and recording of endogenous
and exogenous optical signals required in a study targeting to specific
biological problem(s). I will present the latest results of in vivo
imaging of a variety of living cells and tissues. Further development
and applications of this multi-modality imaging technology will be discussed.
