Course objectives and basic requirements:
This course provides a sound basic knowledge and understanding of various uses of optoelectric detection technology. Impart sufficient knowledge to provide a basis for further courses in more specialised applications and also form the core knowledge for career work within these fields.
Course introduction:
This course will serve as a survey of the latest research topics, applications, and advancement of optical detection technique.  Each topic will emphasize the problems, the academic/clinical needs, the various strategies and rationales, and the possible new approaches.  We will also try to demonstrate the process of doing applied research (find the problem => scientific analysis => proposing solution => implementation and experiment => evaluation) in general.
