Course objectives and basic requirements:
Nowadays, more and more things become informationized, so modern communication is very important for us to learn. The key target of this course is to introduce the basic principle, function and analytical method of the communication system, so that we can grasp the basic design methods and settle a strong foundation for the further development.
Course introduction:
This course is focused on the Principles of Modern Communication comprehensively including the basic principle and function, analytical method of the communication system and typical communication system. It ranges over analog communication and digital communication, including basic model basic target, amplitude modulation system, angel modulation system, digital transmission of analog signals, base band transmission and carrier transmission of digital signal, multiplying channel and multiple access. The core content is to introduce the basic principle and function of various types of modulation and encoding.
Syllabus and lecture schedule:
Introduction, Signal and Noise (2 Credit hours), Amplitude modulation System, Angle modulation System and Digital transmission of Analog signals (14 Credit hours), Base band transmission and Carrier transmission of Digital signal (12Credit hours), Multiplying channel and typical communication system (4Credit hour).

Experiment of PCM, HDB3 coding, HDB3 decoding, generator of pseudo-random code, scramble and descramble.
