On October 29, COSE Volleyball Team ended the journey in the Zhejiang University "San-hao Cup" Volleyball Competition. In this game, the players of COSE Volleyball Team worked tenaciously and cooperated well on the court, finally ranking among top 16 teams.
The team is composed of undergraduates and graduate students from COSE who love volleyball. This year, there are two female players Lei Qiyun and Wang Yusi who play the important positions of the starting setter and the starting free agent, respectively. The team is one of the most special teams in the Men's Volleyball Cup.
On October 17th, the first group game was against Chu Kochen Honors College (CKC). COSE has the top attackers of the school team composed of Chen Guan’an and You Xuan while CKC has a more solid lineup and close cooperation. Every game was inextricable. In the end, CKC won the victory by 2:0 with more delicate defense and tacit cooperation.
On October 25, the second group match was against the School of International Studies. After the previous defeat, the players of COSE made timely tactical adjustments under the guidance of coach Liu Yuhan. The second group match was bound to win. However, the main player You Xuan suffered a sprained ankle before the game. Fortunately, players such as Weng Chenpu, Tian Jiahan, Tu Xitao and Sun Bowen came forward and showed strong dominance in serve and offense. They easily won the victory by 2:0 and advanced from the second place in the group.
In the knockout match on October 29, we ran into our old rival, the College of Education. Facing the strong athletes in the physical education department, we changed our tactics and arranged You Xuan to be the second passer, which effectively restricted the competitor’s two main attackers, Chen Changhao and Fan Ziqi, in the blocking link. In the first game, we even hit deuce, but finally lost the first game due to our own mistake. After the exchange of venues, the veteran player Zhu Chengxi was switched to the field. With his veteran experience and solid skills, he and Sun Bowen jointly held up the flag of the offensive and directly cut the opponent's score in half. The main attacker Chen Guanan, who was responsible for all offensive tasks, started the ultimate mode. With excellent athletic ability and delicate techniques, he constantly took points from every loophole. The score difference was once close to 15 points ahead. We took the second place with absolute advantage. However, in the third game, the College of Education adjusted tactics in time, sending three blocks to restrict our main attackers, effectively reducing our scoring efficiency, and enhancing the score difference with a defensive counterattack. In the end, COSE lost by 1:2 and failed to advance to the quarterfinals.

The members of COSE volleyball team demonstrated tenacious hard work, perseverance and indomitable mental state in the competition. They also showed a good team spirit, playing the style of COSE. Hope to make persistent efforts and achieve better results next year.
