On April 25, the first Optics Frontier Summit and Top Ten Progresses in Chinese Optics in 2020 Award Ceremony was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. 10 basic researches such as quantum entangled light source, fluorescence imaging, metallic sodium plasmon, and 10 applied researches including laser fusion, optical radar long-distance imaging, and spectral gas detection were selected as "Top Ten Progresses in Chinese Optics in 2020". The “3D printing and pressureless sintering technology for fluorescent converters” from the team of Professor Rong of our college won the “Top Ten Progresses in Chinese Optics in 2020” in the applied research category.
Fluorescence conversion white LEDs are widely used in backlight displays and general lighting, and will be used in road lighting, automotive lighting and large-size displays in the future.
Qiu's team invented a 3D printing and pressureless sintering technology, which can be used to quickly manufacture fluorescent converters with high quantum efficiency, adjustable colors, and excellent physical and chemical properties, and realizes the additive manufacturing of all-inorganic fluorescent converters. It is expected to be used in the field of high-power LED and laser lighting.
