Course No:1123152
The course is designed for the graduate students to understand the basic theories, concepts of the fiber optics, integratede optics and optical fiber sensors to find out the types, characters and functions of optical fibers, integrated optics with their components, to know waveguides’ performance, the key technologyes of optical fiber sensor systems and the optical waveguide components with their applications in the fiber sensor systems, finally to track the newest techonolegy of optical waveguide conponents and fiber sensor systems by the theories and knowledge learn in this course and the homework with the correlation discussions.
The students should:
1.understand fundamental theories of fiber optics and integrated optics;
2. know well the type and performance of optical waverguide components;
3.undersdant the conception, type, basic construction of optical fiber sensors;
4.familiarize the interferential optical fiber sensor system and the realizations of the its technologys.
The course is prepared to introduce advanced students to the features of fiber optics, integrated optics and their components, principle of optical fiber sensors and the key technology of the interferential optical fiber sensor system. The course will address the optical issues that are critical for optical fiber sensors such as the fiber radial optics, electromagnetic wave theory, character, performance and measurement of fibers, the equation roots of optical waveguides and correlative components, conceptions of optical fiber sensors and light interference, the construction, character, and key technology of the interferential optical fiber sensor system.
