Good News! Dr. Liu Wenjie was awarded Zhejiang University Zhu Kezhen Graduate Scholarship.

Upon the student's own application,recommended by the college (department), and evaluated by the schoolscholarship review committee, a total of 12 students (8 PhDs and 4 Masters) wonthe Zhu Kezhen Scholarship for Postgraduates of Zhejiang University in2018-2019.

Introduction

Liu Wenjie, a 2016 bachelor-straight-to-doctorate student of the Collegeof Optical Science and Engineering, a member of the State Key Laboratory of Modern OpticalInstruments, follows the Professor Liu Xu and Professor Kuang Cuifang. Startingfrom the theory of total internal reflection and combining frequencymodulation, Liu Wenjie realized a two-fold increase in the lateral resolutionof the super-resolution microscope and a 12-fold increase in the axialdirection. For the first time, dynamic observation of living cells under thisthree-dimensional super-resolution was achieved.


Based on this research, Liu Wenjie has published 9 SCI papers, includingthe top journals NC, LPR and several papers in the ZJUTOP and has contributedseveral papers. Besides, He has acquired 9 National Invention Patent, of which3 were authorized and 6 were published. Dr. Liu has attended 4 timesinternational communication and 6 times international academic conference, wonthe best display award once, helped the team tohold the 2019 Photonics Asia International Academic Conference. He will beco-cultivating at Oxford University from 2020 to 2021.

In addition, Liu Wenjie has won theNational Scholarship, Zhejiang UniversityPh.D. Excellent Student Financial Aid and was selected as a “Ph.D. Academic NewStar Training Program” and one of the top ten academic achievements of 2019students “Qizhen Cup” of Zhejiang University in 2019.He was awarded the titleof Excellent Graduate for twice and three good Graduate Student of ZhejiangUniversity and made outstanding contributions to the team's application formajor awards such as China Optical Technology Award and provincial key researchand development projects.


The Nobel Prize winner in thesuper-resolution area and academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and ChineseAcademy of Engineering visited thelaboratory and gave high praise to Liu Wenjie's developed method andinstrument. Relevant results were reported by official media such as ChinaScience and Technology Network, China Laser and Zhejiang University.
