On the afternoon of March 5th, at theinvitation of the Key Laboratory of Optical Inertia and Sensing Technology, FANGJiancheng, the Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Executive VicePresident of Beihang University, and his entourage came to Zhejiang Universityfor academic exchange. FANG gave a seminar entitled "Development andProspects of Quantum Sensing Technology". LIU Gang, Secretary of Collegeof Instrumentation of Beihang University, HAN Bangcheng, Associate Dean and ProfessorSONG Ningfang attended the seminar. CHEN Zichen, Vice Chairman of theDevelopment Committee of Zhejiang University, former Deputy Secretary of theParty Committee, SHI Hongbing, Dean of the Institute of Advanced Technology, LIUXiangdong, Dean of College of Optical Science and Engineering(COSE), and DAIDaoxin, Vice President of COSE, attended the seminar. The seminar was held inRoom 211, Run Run Shaw Science Museum, Yuquan Campus, Zhejiang University, and washosted by HU Huizhu, Director of the Key Discipline Laboratory.

FANG first introduced the development ofprecision measurement technology and the development of quantum sensingtechnology at home and abroad in an easy-to-understand language, that thedevelopment of precision measuring instruments is of high precision, smallvolume, low cost. Then combined with their own experiences, he introduced therelated research progress and industrial prospects of SERF atomic gyro, nuclearmagnetic resonance gyro and diamond color gyro. Finally, he introduced the newmagnetic source imaging technology based on SERF atomic magnetometer, which isa cross-disciplinary study with cardiac medical imaging, as well as talkedabout his wished towards new breakthroughs in the field of medical imagingtechnology. The conference was full of enthusiasm and filled with a strongacademic atmosphere. After the meeting, the teachers and students made further discussionswith FANG on the issues of interest. In the whole report, the academicianpresented a rare academic feast in a relaxed and humorous language, so thatteachers and students can understand the frontier progress and broaddevelopment prospects of quantum sensing technology.
