On the morning of June 28th, the delegation of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and Philips visited the College of Optical Science and Engineering (COSE), furthering discussions on the cooperation intentions and plans with the COSE.
Yaocheng Shi, COSE assistant dean, welcomed Ton Backx, vice president of TU/e, Cees Ronda, research fellow of Philips Research Aachen, Germany and the delegations. Ton Backx cleared the basis for cooperation between two universities, “I hope our two universities can extend cooperative relationship in educational programs like PhD programs and industry-university integration. We have set up Brain Bridge program with ZJU and Philips and there will be more opportunities.” Cees Ronda agreed and hoped in the future more companies can be involved. Yaocheng Shi expressed the willingness to invite TU/e to become part of the Joint International Research Laboratory of Photonics.
After the meeting, assistant dean Yaocheng Shi, Prof. Hui Ye and professors from TU/e had an in-depth discussion.
The Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is a university of technology in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Its motto is Mens agitat molem (Mind moves matter). The university was the second of its kind in the Netherlands, only Delft University of Technology existed previously.
