On the morning of June 14th, the delegation of the Université Paris-Saclay and the French Consulate General in Shanghai visited the College of Optical Science and Engineering (COSE), furthering discussions on the cooperation intentions and plans with the COSE.
COSE vice dean Daoxin Dai welcomed Gilles Bloch, president of the Université Paris-Saclay , Guillaume Garreta, the director of Foreign Affairs, and the Education Consul Fabien Chareix and Science and Technology Consul Gaétan Messin of French Consulate General in Shanghai. He presented a brief introduction of COSE, from the history, research, faculty to international cooperations. “We have broad prospects for future cooperation and we may continue to consolidate existing achievements and expand further cooperation areas,” he added.
Then, Gilles Bloch also presented the Université Paris-Saclay which is a large-scale university with greater Paris project.
Professor Sailing He and Jianjun He from COSE exchanged views with the French side on all-round cooperation topics, including faculty/student exchange, joint research programs, summer school, and joint labs, and finally agreed to push ahead with bilateral cooperation.
Université Paris Saclay is a French federal research university system which is currently under development. It is part of the Paris-Saclay research-intensive academic campus and business cluster being developed on the Plateau de Saclay near Paris, and is expected to become the main center for training and research within the technology cluster of Paris-Saclay, similar to Stanford University in the Silicon Valley.
