The International Workshop on Ocean Optical Remote Sensing 2018 (OORS 2018 for short) was held at the Yuquan Campus of Zhejiang University(ZJU), Hangzhou, on June 8-9, 2018, with great support from both domestic and foreign research institutions. The introduction is on the official website http://oors2018.org/.
The workshop is co-sponsored by the College of Optical Science and Engineering, State Key Laboratory of Modern Optical Instrumentation, Joint International Research Laboratory of Photonics and the Second Institute of Oceanography, State Oceanic Administration. It is aimed to share new theories and technologies in ocean optical remote sensing, which covers six sessions: Ocean Color Remote Sensing, Coastal Water Observation, Lidar Remote Sensing, Comprehensive Remote Sensing, Atmospheric Remote Sensing and Optical Properties of Seawater. More than 80 domestic and foreign experts and scholars attended the workshop for exchanges and cooperation.
"We believe that OORS 2018 provides opportunities for international cooperation and exchanges between scientists from different countries. Academic and cultural exchanges will help people around the world obtain knowledge about the development of technology," says Professor PAN Delu from Second Institute of Oceanography, State Oceanic Administration, who is chair of OORS 2018 along with Professor BAI Jian from ZJU.
"OORS 2018 is a great chance for experts both at home and abroad to communicate with each other and share useful information in this rapidly-developing research field, ocean color remote sensing and oceanic lidar remote sensing, for instance, " says Professor LIU Dong from ZJU, who is the co-chair of OORS 2018.
Regular workshops for enhanced exchanges and cooperation are expected in the future. For more detail information about OORS 2018, please visit the provided official website.
