Color Engineering Center (CEC) Opening Ceremony started at 6:00p.m., September 21st, on Yuanquan Campus. Qianren Professor Ming Ronnier Luo is in charge of this center.
About 80 guests attended the opening ceremony, including Dr. Ann Webb, Chairman of CIE, Prof. Rongqing Liang, deputy director of CIES and head of Electronic Lighting Institute, Fudan University. renowned companies such as Philips, Everfine, X-Rite, Clariant, Panashine, Chroma, etc., and world leading experts in Lighting and Color Science.
During the ceremony, Prof. Xu Liu, Director of Information Technology Faculty, addressed a welcome speech to the guests, and introduced the development of researches in color science in Optical Engineering Department. Then Prof. Ming Ronnier Luo briefly introduced CEC staff, equipments and the 5 labs: 3D Measurement lab, LED Application lab, Appearance Science lab, Color Management lab and Psychophysical lab. Later the guests visited 3D Measurement Lab and LED Application Lab where students introduced more specifically about the two labs and demonstrated the research areas done in each lab.
