6 graduates from the Department of Optical Engineering, along with 2 graduates from the Faculty of Chemistry and the Department of Energy Engineering ended the 5-days activity-“The Key University Excellent Graduates Summer Practice”-lately in China Academy of Engineering Physics (CAEP) in Mianyang, which is called the “Western Silicon Valley”.
People of the practice group arrived at the Building of China Academy of Engineering Physics on 11th July. The building was located in the Science Zone by the Fu River in Mianyang, Sichuan. In the morning of Jul. 12, Mr. Qishun Li introduced the researches and subject developments of the institutions of CAEP for practice groups nationwide. In the afternoon, people visited the Institute of fluidic Physics (Institute No.1) and saw The Linear Sense Electronic Accelerator ‘Dragon No.1’ and The ‘Two-Stage Hydrogen Gun’. On Jul. 13, the practice groups visited the original setup of the giant Laser “Light No.3” in the Institute of Laser Technology in the Research Center for Laser Fusion (Institute No. 8). In the afternoon, a visit was paid to the Lab of Electronic Shield & Micro-Fabrication in the Institute of Applied Electronics (Institute No.10). During the Next day, the groups saw the Nuclear Weapon & Non-Normal Weapon Exhibition, where people saw the 3D presentation of China’s first nuclear bomb and documentary ‘Eastern Blast’- which introduced the producing of China’s first nuclear bomb. In the afternoon, people attended the science popularization report of ‘Two Bombs- One Satellite’, which strengthened the realization of the values of CAEP. Before leaving on Jul. 17, gropes form nationwide visited institutions separately in their own research fields and discussed with each other on Jul.15 and 16. The summer practice was a good lesson for the graduates, who learned a lot of out-class knowledge.
