The 2010 Graduation Ceremony of Department of Optical Engineering opened in Jun. 30 evening in Room 301, No.3 Building, Yuquan Campus. Prof. Xu Liu, Director of the Faculty of Information, Mr. Wei’e Zhang, Party Secretary of the Department of Optical Engineering (OE); Prof. Jian Bai, Deputy Dean of the Deparment of OE; Prof. Xiaoping Wang, Deputy Dean of the Department of OE; Prof. Yuling Liu, Vice Party Secretary of OE and other faculty members attended the ceremony. Mr. Guobing Xu, Vice Mayor of Wujiang, Jiangsu Province and Dr. Jinyi Pan, who graduated in 1978 from the Department of OE, were invited as honored guests. The ceremony started with speech from Prof. Xu Liu, who represented his acknowledgements and expectations for the graduates. Mr. Wei’e Zhang also told the graduates the behavior instructions ahead in workplaces. This section ended up with the talk delivered by Dr. Pan, who expressed his great honor to Zhejiang University and to the spirit he learned in the Department of Optical Engineering.
The second section came with the dance accompanied by song from 2008-enrolled student. The dance ‘Nobody’ and song ‘To meet is a song’ recalled every student’s unforgettable lives and memories in the dpartment. After that, the graduates sang the song ‘The Fall, The Summer’ followed with ‘Friends’, which, mirrored the solid relationships between the graduates who had been studying, living together for 4 years. The operculum ‘The light of finding the truth’ given by Le Zhong and Tianling Yang-who was named ‘Jiao Shou’-enhanced the party atmosphere. Tianling Yang shared his experience in coordinating love, study, life and friendship with students.
At the half of the ceremony, girls of OE performed graceful India Dances. People were delighted by the beautiful Indian song, graceful dance and the dainty costumes. The most impressive performance was the song ‘Huaxin’ sang by Weihe. She was so skilled in singing ‘Dolphin Tone’ that some of the audiences said even the original singer, Liangying Zhang, can’t sing better. In the next half, people enjoyed the ‘Mimic Shows’, ‘Super Star’, ‘Students Graduation Speeches VCR’ and so on. To the last, all of the graduates walked onto the stage, standing together, sang the song ‘My Future Is Not Only A Dream’ to farewell to the department.
